Introduction
Department of Botany is one of the leading departments at Mir Chakar Khan Rind University (MCKRU), Sibi. It is pioneer teaching and research department established simultaneously with the foundation of University in 2019. The discipline of Botany deals with the course content of plant sciences and the utility of plants in relation to mankind. The study of plants is important for several reasons and plants always remained a fundamental part of life on earth. They generate oxygen and provide shelter, food, fibers, fuel, and medicine.
HOD’s MESSAGE
As the BeingtheChairperson, of the Department of Botany, I feel honoured to serve at Mir Chakar Khan Rind University Sibi. Creating a conducive learning environment is my top priority. I look forward to making MCKRU a distinctive place of learning and academic discourse for innovations and discoveries, where students are prepared to solve the challenging problems of the changing world and Pakistan. The department has a well-established laboratory and Botanical Garden, which fulfil all the basic and advanced level research activities requirements for students and research scholars. In recent years, the Department of Botany has facilitated collaboration and innovation for cooperative education and highlighted the students’ development of practical ability, innovative spirit, research projects and sense of social responsibility, which lays a solid foundation for excellent teachers and prospective educators.

VISION
“To establish the Department of Botany as a renowned leader in academia by providing high-quality undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate programs.”
MISSION
Through teaching, research, and participation, the Department is dedicated to educating students and scientists to benefit the community.
GOALS
The Department’s goal is to produce world-class graduates who can meet national needs by bridging the gap between our research and local industry for ultimate indigenization of plant science technology, keeping up with emerging trends in plant sciences, and accepting the challenges of global competition. Our goal is to equip our graduates to meet the needs of the pharmaceutical business, food industry, health sector, environment, agriculture, forestry, and government and non-government disease control programs by looking for new plant medications and microbiological sources.
