Introduction
The Department of English (Literature & Linguistics) is one of the pioneer working departments of Mir Chakar Khan Rind University, Sibi. This Department is among the university’s largest departments vital role for the people of this region. The Department also greatly contributes to the other university departments by providing faculty members with compulsory English subjects. PhD and MS/MPhil supervise the Department of English (Literature & Linguistics). Faculty members who have vast teaching and research experience. The purpose of this Department is to provide quality education in English Literature and Linguistics to the people of Sibi District in particular and Balochistan in general. The Department also aims to provide the facility of English language classes for the students of the university and others to get the chance to learn the English Language from well-qualified and experienced faculty members. The faculty members of this department work in a team with their contribution and experience to make it a renowned university department.
HOD’s MESSAGE
The Department of English (Literature & Linguistics) was initiated in 2019. The Department took its first flight with the BS program in 2019, but from 2021 onwards, more efforts are being made to offer MS/M.Phil program in 2022 and PhD program in future. The current BS English program aims not only to make students understand literature and linguistics but also to help them improve their four basic English language skills to communicate effectively and enable them to read efficiently and write freely.
Though it is the beginning of the BS program at MCKRU, the graduates of our Department will play important roles in the advancement of this region in different fields. They will be able to compete at various stages and achieve significant positions in government or semi-government organizations and the private sector.
The present PhD and MS/M.Phil. Faculty members of this Department with exposure to vast teaching and research experience at various established universities and colleges help the students to make their future bright. The faculty has experience writing articles in well-known journals, promoting the culture of research and critical thinking in students at the BS level.
