The 4th Meeting of Academic Council of Mir Chakar Khan Rind University (MCKRU) was held at Video Conferencing room on 20th July 2023, under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor MCKRU, Dr. Qadar Bakhsh Baloch. All the learned members including Secretary Colleges, Higher & Technical Education, Government of Balochistan- Mr. Lal Jan Jaffer, Pro Vice Chancellor MCKRU- Prof. Dr. Syed Mustaq Ahmed Shah, Registrar MCKRU- Dr. Hamayoun Yousaf Shahwani and all heads of each academic program attended the meeting. Vice Chancellor cordially welcomed the learned members of the august body and he greatly emphasized on sustainable approach in harnessing the faculty and administrative staff towards better and more advancement of knowledge and technology. Expressing satisfaction over progress of 3rd Academic Council, the august body approved New Academic programs including BS Economics, BS Tourism, Hospitality & Heritage Management, BS Commerce. Owing to significance of Mehrgarh Civilization and its socio-economic aspects, the University approved the “Establishment of Mehrgarh Institute of Heritage and Tourism Management” during its 4th Academic Council. Making students more effective member of university, the 4th Academic Council of Meeting approved the establishment of “Business Incubation Center” which will help and support the students in start-ups, internships and securing employment in market. Apart from existing BS and MS programs, the august body also emphasized and approve after a thoughtful discussion that MCKRU should be equipped with more important languages other than English, including Chinese, French, and Arabic. Keeping in view the importance of skills learning for a graduate in the present world, the learned members of Academic Council appreciated the vision and approved the agenda regarding inclusion of learning of any skill, by own choice, during the academic session. In his concluding remarks, the Secretary Colleges, Higher & Technical Education, Government of Balochistan expressed greater satisfaction and admired the efforts taken so far by MCKRU, and ensured his fully support for the betterment of University’s Academic and Administrative affairs.
