Prof. Dr Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Shah is the acting Vice Chancellor of Mir Chakar Khan Rind University (MCKRU) Sibi. Previously he was working as Pro-Vice Chancellor Balochistan UET Khuzdar wherein he was assigned the responsibilities of Pro-Vice Chancellor MCKRU Sibi. He has received his PhD Degree in Mechanical Engineering (design and Analysis) from INSA Lyon France in 2011 and Masters in Industrial Engineering from INPG UPM Grenoble France in 2006. He has also done Masters in Mechanical Engineering from college of E&ME NUST Islamabad Pakistan in 2002. He has done his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical from Balochistan UET Khuzdar in 1997 and FSc from Army Burn Hall College Abbottabad in 1992. He has attended various trainings abroad on Management and leadership. He holds over 24 years of research, teaching and administrative experience in BUETK and France at different positions. He also holds extensive experience of administration at the level of Chairman of the department, Director Research, Dean Faculty of engineering, Pro-Vice Chancellor, and acting Vice Chancellor. Presently he is working as Acting Vice Chancellor of Mir Chakar Khan Rind University Sibi.
Prof. Dr Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Shah is also elected member of Pakistan Engineering Council’s Governing Body and is convener and member of various committees. He was involved in Accreditation process of Engineering education on out come based education (OBE), professional training of engineers through CPD courses and program evaluators through extensive courses, registration of engineers and contractors and making and amendments in byelaws, rules and regulations of Pakistan Engineering Council. He has also actively participated in designing and revision of curriculum for engineering programs based on outcome-based learning. In recognition of his professional contributions, he was accorded the honorary membership of International Professional Engineer (IPE) by Pakistan Engineering council.
He was also involved in establishment of Pakistan Innovation and Testing Center (PITC) at Pakistan Engineering Council. He was responsible for formulation of Byelaws and ToRs of PITC.
He remained Convener of Pakistan Engineering Council Enrollment committee of Balochistan province for registration of Contractors, Consultants and Operators of the region.
He has published many articles in highly reputed national and international journals of his field and has also presented his work in international conferences. He has also been awarded best teacher award of the year by HEC Islamabad. He has attended many professional and leadership trainings abroad.
He has been engaged in uplifting the quality of education particularly higher education in Balochistan. He strongly believes in training of faculty members in a very professional and systematic way and worked a lot in arranging various training sessions for faculty of BUETK.
